Birds of a Feather

Heaping with Hostas

My last post featured gorgeous red blobs, a.k.a., tomatoes.  Simple, beautiful things.  This photo is another that belongs in that category.  Hostas teeming with hues of green, yellow and blue along with delightful lines that move the eye from one to the next.  And, what about the textures?  Just looking at the image I can feel the dense foliage as if I'm standing in the middle of the shade garden basking in the quiet, the colors and the sounds of summer.  Ahhhhh.

"The world is quiet here."

More from the Garden

Last summer I featured several images of beautiful things found in my garden or in other  places I love to frequent.  These gems came a little later and didn't make the initial posts; however, I decided that the middle of winter is the perfect time to revisit a garden.  The colors, shapes, textures and asymmetry all catch my eye, and my gaze lingers -- the essence of art.  Simple things.  Beautiful things.  In 2020 I'm on the lookout for such things.
