Allium

In late spring allium bulbs emerge and enormous purple spheres atop tall narrow stalks take center stage in the garden.   Essentially, this is an ornamental onion whose close relatives are garlic, shallot, chives and leeks.  Have you seen them?  Perhaps they adorn your landscape.

These images feature the remnants of these showstoppers and remind me of wispy puff balls that linger after a dandelion turns to seed.   Ahhhh....something beautiful.

More RW&B

Three of a Kind

"Success is following the pattern
of life one enjoys most."
                                                                                             --Al Capp

As an artist who loves drawing structured patterns, I enjoy recreating a tangle (the term used for a given pattern) and comparing the variations.  Black on white, white on black and then a flurry of color -- each is my favorite.  Can you detect the basic structure.  And, if you really want to have fun, try it for yourself or enroll in one of my classes.   Ahhhhh....something beautiful.
