Yesterday in the Northern Hemisphere was the vernal equinox, and, this change is season leaves me very excited, as if I am a wee one waiting to open presents on Christmas morning. And, I feel like running through the neighborhood announcing, "Spring is here! Spring is here!"
Anyway, below is a drawing of mine that includes the tangle "Dubble Blooming Butter," by Olga Barko. If you are interested in exploring the simple repetitive floral pattern, there are many visuals available online.
Traditionally March 17th is reserved for all things green as the calendar says it's St. Patrick's Day; however, I added a twist by including red berries in a sea of green! Yep, these images feature the iconic Holly tree. And, yes, I love looking at these brilliantly bold-colored berries and the delightful contrast to the waxy thick leaves. It's a feast for my senses as I explore the colors, textures, and lines plus play hide and seek with the mockingbirds that move nimbly inside the outer shell (which resembles an obstacle course made of narrow branches.)
Here's to a HOLLY-JOLLY St. Patrick's Day.
