Pause to Reflect

"It is not by muscle, speed, or physical dexterity that great things are achieved;
but by reflection, force of character, and judgement."

See the Light

With mild February temperatures in these parts, many of us find ourselves looking forward to summer gardens and more daylight.  This picture features a unique garden design that uses multi-colored plates to create the inner circle and a multi-level piece as the focal point.  In addition, with the light literally at the end of the tunnel, this photo is encouraging as it reminds me that warmer weather is just ahead.  So, in the meantime, I will enjoy the warmer-than-average weather and appreciate this reprieve from the usual cold, snow and ice.

For those wondering, this photo was taken during a visit to Reiman Gardens on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa.  Plan now for a summertime visit to this delightful destination in the Hawkeye state.

Master Artist

What a severe yet master artist old Winter is....
No longer the canvas and the pigments, but the marble and the chisel.
