Toast to Tulips

This is a longtime favorite image of mine -- color, texture, depth of field and the subject are all pleasing.  Tulips are so beautiful yet fragile and short lived; hence, when I have an opportunity to photograph them on a lovely spring morning, it's delightful and memorable.  That was the case a few years back when I sat on a cool ground in lush green grass with the sun warming me while I spent an hour taking photos of this group of red and white tulips.  Still love this shot and thinking of that time behind the lens.

Royalty

With Britain's royal wedding quickly approaching, I thought this was a timely photo that might remind viewers of their own special occasions.  This is the ballroom in the historic Biltmore Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.  Last summer I was fortunate to attend art classes in this lovely locale and each time I stepped in the room I felt especially grateful to be in this seemingly enchanted space creating beautiful images.

A Nod to Moms

Although this image is a tribute to all mothers as we approach Mother's Day, I want to again mention that the colorful heart was made of LEGO bricks by the world-renown LEGO Artist Nathan Sawaya.   Currently this piece, along with numerous other amazing works, are on display in the ART OF THE BRICK exhibition at Union Station in Kansas City.
