Summer Fun -- I Dare You! -- Take II

More photos of me enjoying summer and doing things I love, including cruising on the jet ski, boating and waterskiing.

Anyway, the point of this post (and the previous) is simple:  to share pictures of me doing things I love.  Why not?  Knowing what we love and doing it makes us happy, and those good vibes rub off on others and double the fun.

Again, the challenge is for you to also share with a person or on a social media platform (or however you prefer) a photo of something about summer that you love.  Of course, I hope you also share with me.

And be sure to enjoy the good vibes.

Summer Fun -- I Dare You!

Yep!  That is me striking a pose after a morning swim.  And, yep, that is me at the wheel manifesting my inner "Barbie" -- be sure to notice the pink sunglasses and jacket.    LOL

A Day to Draw

The above photo contains one of my original pieces that uses a pattern similar to a thumbtack, and from that I was inspired to create a line of beautiful ballerinas.  It is fun to use my imagination and see what happens when I put pen to paper.

And, perhaps you are eager to draw but have all sorts of reasons why you have not even looked for a pen and paper.  I get it.

However, if you are interested in just following along with a teacher who is experienced and offers step-by-step instructions, consider attending this 1-day Zentangle Retreat at the Shalom Center in Dubuque, IA.  The place, people and price are all terrific.  To register and read more details, use the link below.  It is going to be a great day to tangle.

Details:

What:   A day of Zentangle

When:  Monday, September 25,  9am - 4pm

Published

Recently a neat surprise landed in my mailbox as I received a letter saying that my photo (shown below) was published in the August/September edition of the Our Iowa magazine.  And, although I have previously had images in this publication, each time is thrilling and an honor.  In fact, I can feel the pride bubbling up as I prepare this post.

Anyway, if you are a subscriber turn to page 9 and check it out.  If you do not have a subscription, I highly recommend it or at least have a look at the copy that is on the shelf in your hometown library.  Whether or not you are an Iowan, there is something for most folks in this beautiful bi-monthly periodical.

Christmas on the River

Recently the Lake Delhi community celebrated Christmas on the River.  And, the next three images are typical of how folks use all sorts of lighting and inflatable decorations to create festive displays along the banks of the Maquoketa River.  On this occasion, boating after dark, despite the heavy traffic, is something my husband and I along with our neighbors enjoy.

And now for a couple photos that may make you laugh, recall a very popular holiday movie with a main character known as Clark Griswold and recall times when you may have used some similar contraption for a holiday light display.

Enjoy!

“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
