October Tour of Iowa: Good Eats

As I traveled to sites along the Mississippi River hoping to see colorful fall foliage, I noticed one thing -- the squirrels were extremely busy gathering and eating nuts.  Acorns and walnuts, since those are most plentiful, were the popular choices as these critters scurried from branch to branch, tree to tree and back again in search of these goods.  In the photo notice how this efficient little creature collected two walnuts; however, after he detected my presence, he quickly abandoned both.  And, thinking he would soon return, I waited...but, after about ten minutes and several bug bites, I figured two pictures were better than none and left the park in favor of my insect-free truck.
